This is everybody's favorite summertime hangout on the Mississippi, when spending time in pool #13.

Island #254 in front of the US army ammo depot. There are lots of keep out signs but they leave this island for the "river rats"

Its busy, and can get very crowded, but all are well behaved. Always a big family outing stop with camping and the likes

Look up the river, it's bumper to bumper parking !

Here I am cooling off in the water. There are very steep sand dunes in the background, and Army soldiers can be seen occasionally in jeeps guarding them

The sandy beach runs from one end of the island to the other and it has a very nice sloping approach
