What can you Say ? I like to play around with Sun computers. My fascination began probably back in 1993 when I had a little Sparc-ipx on my desk that was used for circuit design and analysis. Now these little boxes can be found on ebay for a song, and are still amazingly useful. I like Solaris, It is still the closest ancestor to the original System V, the root of most modern day *inx'ses. With Sun giving the free binaries of the Os'es, for personal use its a great way to learn By dinking with these boxes I have greatly extended my knowledge of networking, security, perl, C and many other modern day computing aspects. I encourage anybody that has time, and a desire to experiment with new computer hardware and software to do so. You never know when something you have learned in the past may come in really handy in the future.

This page has been partially created for myself, as I have a terrible memory, and as stabile as these boxes are, around once a year or so I need to add software, or repair a hard drive. So this page is for me and whoever else may stumble around onto it. If you find it useful, drop me a note,

The biggest resource around for software is Sunfreeware.com run by Steven M. Christensen. If you read this Guy's Bio, It's hard to imagine that he has time to keep up such a great site. He does answer relevant emails, and is a real asset to Solaris in general
